Sweet Baby What?

Welcome to Sweet Baby Sugar, I am Julie mom of Sarah born in November 2006. Being a new mom was really hard; no one can fully convey how much time I would sacrifice from myself to keep my daughter happy and content. As much as I loved being a mom, it was frustrating as I couldn't seem to get anything else done. I was introduced to Babywearing at my breastfeeding group. I was fascinated with all the carriers and how easy and comfy they looked. I tried to wear my Baby Bjorn, but for some reason my daughter didn't like me wearing her - she would only be worn by her daddy and well, it got uncomfortable quickly as my little one grew. I went to the local baby superstore and didn't see much of anything - as a matter of fact, didn't see anything like the mom had demonstrated in my group, but I purchased the one type sling they had. It buckled and was very padded and Sarah hated it - so back it went.

My best friend showed me her Ring Sling which was made by a work at home mom and only available through the internet. I put Sarah in it and she was all smiles. I immediately ordered one and started hanging out online and in person with other babywearers. From there I discovered the joys of the two shouldered Mei Tai. I couldn't believe how wonderful it was to be so close to my daughter and at the same time, handsfree. I could now do things like discreetly breastfeed in public, walk the dog, put a load of laundry in, and cuddle my baby at any time I wanted without thinking about it .....it was very freeing for me. Determined to find the best carrier for me I tried several different brands and types of carriers. It became evident to me that someone needed to have these carriers easily available as they were worked so much better for me than what I had seen and purchased in the big superstores. Sweet Baby Sugar was born.

Sweet Baby Sugar is a term of endearment from my dad. Sweet Baby Sugar gave me a warm, comfy, and secure feeling as a kid - which is what my carriers are doing for Sarah. I must confess, however, I get a lot out of wearing her also. It makes me feel warm and comfy and secure as her mom.
